Col. Prof. Dr. Karbhari V. Kale served as the Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere, from January 3, 2022, to March 25, 2026. Additionally, he held the charge of Vice-Chancellor at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Maharashtra, from May 18, 2022, to June 7, 2023.
With over 35+ years of experience in teaching, research, and innovation, Prof. Kale is a renowned academician in Computer Science and Information Technology. He has authored over 364 research articles, six books, and 23 book chapters, accumulating a total impact factor exceeding 24. He has established state-of-the-art research laboratories in Multimodal Biometrics, Geospatial Technology, AI, and Machine Learning, securing significant funding from agencies such as DST, UGC, RUSA, and Media Lab. A recipient of prestigious honors including the Vijay Shree Award and the 2016 ACS Australia ICT Researcher of the Year (Finalist), Prof. Kale is a fellow of several international organizations. His guiding mission is “ICT for Society.”
